For this firm, innovation is not a means to an end but an end in itself. The vacuum, mixing, metering and impregnation systems it manufactures for customers – including electrical and automotive companies and their suppliers – are exclusively capital goods used to manufacture the customers’ products. 		— Press Release TOP 100 — Lothar Späth awarded Top 100 seal of approval to engineering company from Bocholt in north-west Germany Bocholt — Verfahrenstechnik HÜBERS GmbH is one of the 100 most innovative small and medium-sized companies (SMEs) in Germany. Now in its 15th year, the aim of this competition is to seek out outstanding examples of innovation management in Germany‘s SME sector. Lothar Späth, former state premier of Baden-Württemberg, awarded this prestigious seal of approval to HÜBERS at an official ceremony at the Phönixhalle in Stuttgart. As patron of the SME project he recognised HÜBERS’ success in the five key categories of Successful Innovations, Climate of Innovation, Innovative Processes and Organisation, Innovation-friendly Senior Management and Innovations Marketing.
HÜBERS achieved its highest marks for developing new plant engineering technologies, making it into the top ten in the Successful Innovations category. Its latest innovation is a fully automated resin casting system for applications in the automotive and automotive supply industries.
The advantage of this new technology is that it operates continuously with no need for time-consuming dwell periods or production breaks for mixing and processing. The company’s success is largely due to its market knowledge. The service department gathers customer feedback so that HÜBERS can react rapidly to changes in its customers’ requirements. The close collaboration between management and service, R&D and sales departments enables customer suggestions to be transformed into innovative products. But it is the company’s employees who are at the heart of its innovative capability.
